The HCG diet protocol has as its goal the ‘resetting’ of the body metabolism. The success of the HCG diet depends on two things – the regular taking of the hormone drops in the required manner, and the extended period of calorie restriction following 1 or 2 days of fat loading. These two things make up the HCG diet protocol, which if followed correctly for the prescribed period of time (between 10 and 40 days), should produce significant and rapid weight loss.
In summary, the HCG diet protocol consists of :
1/ Taking HCG drops (consumed under the tongue) three times daily for the entire length of the diet.
2/ Eating lots of fatty foods (even if you are not hungry) for the first 1 or 2 days of the diet.
3/ Consuming only 500 calories a day for the remaining length of the diet (7-23 days).
